Maggie Fanari joins as CEO alongside CIO Nick Khuu and an experienced team at J. Rothschild Capital Management.
2013
Dame Hannah Rothschild CBE is appointed to the Board of RIT. Hannah continues to represent the family’s interests on our Board. Members of the Rothschild Family are our largest shareholders.
2002
RIT Capital Partners enters the FTSE 250 on 2 Jan 2002, with a market capitalisation of ~£630 million.
1988
RIT is listed on the London Stock Exchange, with total assets of ~£280 million. Today, it is one of the UK’s largest investment trusts with total assets of ~£4 billion.
1986
RIT acquires a long leasehold interest in Spencer House, a building of outstanding historic and architectural importance, located in the St. James’s area of London. RIT is still headquartered at Spencer House today, alongside a successful events business.
1971
Lord Jacob Rothschild founds Rothschild Investment Trust, subsequently renamed RIT, and serves as Chairman until his retirement in 2019, when Sir James Leigh-Pemberton takes over the role.
1959
RIT traces its origins to the earlier Rothschild Investment Trust, which was originally associated with the family bank, N. M. Rothschild & Sons. Lord Jacob Rothschild joins the bank in 1959.
